COME & TRY SOFTBALL

How does it work?
First, if you have never played softball before, you will be asked to participate in a 45 minute mini clinic one hour before the start of the first game of the season.   The clinic will begin at 5:30 PM and the game will start at 6:45 PM. The clinic will cover the basics skills of softball, including batting, running, throwing and catching the ball.  Nothing complicated, just enough to get you started.

Second after the clinic, you will be introduced to the coach and placed on a team where you play the first game of the season. The team placements will have been determined beforehand based on the player's age and request (to play with a friend).

Is there a Cost?
There is no cost for the Come & Try program; the clinic and the first game is free.  If you decide to join, then you will be required to pay the full fees associated for that division.

When does the program start?
Our season begins Sunday May 6.  When you have registered for the Come & Try program the coach will be in contact with you a week before the season begins with the date, time and diamond for your game.

Where do I play?
The clinic and games are played at the back of the Ray Twinney Recreation Complex at diamond 1, 2 or 3.

What do I need to bring?
Just yourself and some comfortable clothes that is appropriate for the weather.  Running shoes are fine.  No open toe shoes.   If you have a baseball or softball glove bring it along.  We'll have a few gloves there that you may borrow if you do not have a glove.  A water bottle can be a very good idea, most people are surprised by just how active Softball is.
