Where's Waldo?
NMSA would like to thank all of our sponsors. Many are long time sponsors who have generously supported our endeavors for a number of years, others
are new to N.M.S.A. We thank you all.  Without you, there could be no Newmarket Minor Softball Association.
Please vist their web sites.

Outdoor Field and Diamond Status
During periods of inclement weather, permit holders and users are encouraged to call 1-877-PLAY936 (752-9936) after 2 p.m. Monday to Friday and throughout the day on weekends for information on field and diamond closures.

It's been raining off and on all day and I have a game tonight.  I am wondering if we are playing?

Call 1-877-752-9936 after 2:00 PM and about 2 hours before your game.
Remember, when calling you are checking diamonds, not fields.

Home Stretch
NMSA is past the half way point in the 2010 season and we are in the home stretch.  Coaches, players are beginning to think about closing weekend.
Reminder to all coaches, just before playoffs start, your division convenor will hand out playoff schedule and player rating.    Please submit your player rating before playoffs start.  The player's ratings are very important and are used by next year's convenor to organize the division teams.

Out-of-control amateur coaches mentally abuse players
By Robert Cribb

An article about armature coaches and their desire to win at all costs and the effect it has on the players.

As coaches we must remember the top two reasons a player joins a sport is to:
  1) To have fun
  2 )To improve their skills
10) To win

The top two reasons why players quit the sport:
1) I lost interest
2) I was not having fun
11) Overemphasis on winning
