New COVID Protocols for Stage 3

Now that the province has entered Stage 3 of our reopening, sports organizations are permitted to make some changes to requirements. The health & safety of our Stingers players, coaches, volunteers, officials, and their families are our top priority.

All team Coaches or Captains will complete wellness check and contact screening questionnaire for all individuals on the team for every game and practice. Completed forms will be kept on file by each coach or captain and be made available upon request by the NMSA.

Physical distance of 2 metres between players, bags and equipment is recommended. Sanitary wipes will be available and used to wipe down surfaces at the end of each game and for equipment as needed. Hand sanitizer is encouraged to be used by all individuals entering and leaving their dugout. To satisfy contact tracing requirements Parents and spectators are not permitted within 2 metres of the dugout unless for medical attention or the request of the Coach.

Mask Requirements:

For U12, U14, U16, U19 and Adult 3-Pitch players, who enter the dugout and on the field of play:

  1. For all defensive players, masks are optional. This includes the catcher. Masks are encouraged to be worn at all times.
  2. For all offensive players, batter and base runners, masks are always required.
  3. Masks are required for everyone in the dugout.
  4. Masks are always required for coaches or captains.
  5. Masks are always required for umpires.
  6. For Markham, Stouffville, Aurora and Richmond Hill, fans sitting in their bleachers must wear masks. Fans sitting in their own chairs must wear masks if less than 6 feet away or with people other than their own family unit.

For Timbits, 5-Pitch and U10 players, it is required that all players (offense and defense) wear masks because of minimal control over distancing.
