Join us for another great season in 2022!
The Newmarket Minor Softball Association invites you to share in celebrating our 48th year of providing safe, fun and inclusive Softball sports programming to our community. Our Strategic Plan has allowed us to embark on a 4 year plan driven by the theme “community” as our core objective. The game of Softball is alive and well in Newmarket!
We are actively engaged in new community events, new activities at the diamonds, more training and giving back more value to our players, coaches, officials, families and sponsors.
Our 2022 focus will be to continue to attract, develop, train and encourage female players, coaches and umpires. Our U11, U13, U15, U17, U19 and U21 all-female houseleague and Select fastball teams provide fun, safe, inclusive, healthy and competitive games and tournaments. We welcome all players of all skill levels.
We have already kicked off our year with creative ways to improve healthy activity in our community, make playing softball more accessible, affordable and improve the lives of children through the power of sport.
Whether you are a returning player or new the game of softball, we offer organized softball to all ages from 4 years old to adults. We welcome you to BEE part of our HIVE !
We are a not-for-profit organization and we are very grateful to the volunteers who entirely run our league.
We have been actively involved with the Newmarket community since 1974. Our Softball league is successful only with the support of our valued sponsors. We offer the best deal in town for house league sports and our regularly scheduled games are on weekdays. Our strategic plan focuses on providing quality programming to all our players, families, volunteers and sponsors.
Girls home and away houseleague schedule for U11, U13, U15 and U17+ can be found using this link. Come out and cheer on our Stingers when we #BringtheSting to the competition. Bee part of the action, bee part of our Hive!
Fast Forward to 21:40 in the clip to hear 105.9's Kevin Frankish interview Stingers Executive Director, Glenn Burton about the 40% growth in softball registration this year and the Stingers focus on developing female leaders both on and off the diamond.
We recognize the past 2+ years has been very challenging financially for many families in our Region. If your daughter or her friend wants to play softball, please contact me directly. The Stingers recognize the importance of playing sports in the overall positive mental & physical health of our children and will ensure registration fees and equipment costs are no barrier to play softball with us this season.
Glenn Burton, Executive Director, NMSA
Does your school teach softball in gym? Does your school have softball teams? If not, please contact us!
We can help by offering equipment (bases, balls, bats etc) to local schools who wish to play the game of softball. We can also help to provide fun skills & drills workout sheets, how to run practices & games & how to introduce the game of softball to all ages.
Please ask your gym teacher, principal, parent or guardian to contact us and we can help. Softball is an easy game to learn and play for kids of all ages. Whether you are new to the sport or just wish to play more during school hours, the Newmarket Stingers can help. Please contact Glenn Burton at:

The #Newmarket Stingers are thrilled to be awarded a Canadian Tire Jumpstart grant to attract, engage & develop a long-term interest in the sport of softball by providing training to girls & young women to become coaches, umpires & leaders in our communities. Bee part of an amazing team of players, coaches, officials & volunteers who all share in the passion of creating safe, fun, inclusive access to sport & play. The 2021 season was a huge success, we can't wait for an even better 2022!
